As The World Turns
I just had an audition for a new character that will appear on As The World Turns. I'm not sure if I can disclose the name of the character, so for the purpose of this blog we shall call him Johnny Strabler. For those of you that are MB fans you will recognize that name from The Wild One. Anywho I chose that name because the sides and character description reminded me of Brando in that film.
To prepare for the audition, I watched a few scenes from the film again (thank you YouTube) and ran the lines. There wasn't much time for preparation. I quickly planned how I'd start and a few things depending on where the camera was set up. I got to the casting early, signed in, and waited as other actors went in and as my heart rate started beating faster and faster...
I took a few deep breathes, calmed down and was ready to go. I walked into the room, and there were just two people sitting behind a round table. There was no camera, and I was asked to sit down, the two things I didn't plan for haha.
Other than the initial surprise, I felt the audition went pretty well. But then again, you never really know. So now it's a waiting game, maybe I'll hear back, maybe I won't; only time will tell...

One hopes they'd at least do you the courtesy of letting you know, even if you don't get the part...

yes one would hope haha but as much as it stinks not knowing or hearing back I suppose in a way it's better. Imagine getting a call or email just to say "thanks, you didn't get it" haha that would not be cool.

Why were you so nervous? Didn't you give it your 100%? Or best yet even more?
I have been told by young
I have been told by young actors that one of the most unnerving things when starting out is going to an audition and in the waiting room you see 20 guys who look like physical variations of you. However, you are extremely handsome in a unique way so maybe that won't happen to you.
And if you get a chance to show those abs in an audition -- do it.

Wow you know about The Wild One, circa 1953 Marlon Brando?
I'm guessing ur character must really be a bad boy.
That's really quite cool. Film classics always get overlooked by the modern audience.
And you're one of the rare models/pretty-faces who actually watches the great classic movies.
Kudos!
